The Unbearable Cuteness of Being

I am PMS-ing pretty hard, it seems, since three things have made me tear up this morning.

1. A story about a lost parrot who had his name and address memorized so was reunited with his owners
2. This picture
3. Our local Stray Rescue winning a $1 million dollar shelter makeover and the picture of the dog that survived a 2003 attempt to gas him.

This picture didn’t make me tear up though, it made me smile. So I thought I would share that too.

Now Michael Buble is making me tear up with his song “Everything”. This is all on top of Monday’s episode of House making me cry like Nancy Kerrigan too. It’s going to be a long cycle.

another cool site

Another cool site I forgot about (still mining the depths of the bookmarks) is bubblr. This lets you search flickr images by certain tags, then create a comic strip/one photo with talk bubbles attached. Cute and fun. Here’s mine.

Need some stress-relief?

It’s been a long time since I visited Orisinal.com. It’s just one of those sites I’d bookmarked years ago and forgotten about. But I was browsing through my bookmarks (because I have so much work to do I can’t figure out what the hell to do first, so I needed to not do anything for five minutes) and found it again. Lovely flash-based games with soft, delicate graphics and soothing music. Ahh…. This one is my favorite. Hamster in a falling leaf game.

The first known film of the long-eared jerboa, an endangered Mongolian rodent with legs like a kangaroo, was released today by the owners of London Zoo.The gerbil-sized mammal with outsize ears was filmed hopping about in the Gobi desert by scientists from the Edge programme, run by the Zoological Society of London, which highlights the plight of animals which are “evolutionarily distinct and globally endangered”.

You have to go and look at this (stupidly unembeddable) video. The cute will make you insane. Although they mention in the article that the thing has ears “one-third” bigger than its head, when I think they mean to say “ears THIRTY TIMES bigger than its head.” Of course its all endangered and stuff because we humans like to destroy anything cute and fun like this, while breeding rampant scores of dirty, white-trash children all over the damn place.

Also the thing gets full props for having a name like a really trendy, fluffy sweater-like item I might want to buy. “Hey, hand me my jerboa, it’s getting cold in here!”

Happy Holidays from SBG & The Pack!

Haven’t had time to do much creative stuff in the past few months, but I did spend the last TWO WHOLE DAYS (well, part of the day on two days in a row, so, sorta) creating this video for you, and ONLY for you. It’s called Life on the Chihuahua Farm, and boy is it grand. (The life and the video.) There are appearances by the three doggies you’ve come to know and love plus a surprise appearance by my reflection! Also my legs at one point, but it’s just a flash on the screen, unless you pause it, you perv.

The file’s about 15MB and in .wmv format – for those of you with no idea what that is, it will take awhile to download but our PC will play it.

Hope you enjoy and Happy Holidays to everyone – thanks for whatever magical thing you’ve done for me this year — I know it was something good or I totally wouldn’t love you like I do!

See, when it’s my parent’s dog I can say “How silly! That poor dog!”

I think it’s because he always looks so sad in photos. He’s not though. For one thing he’s rarely a body at rest. He’s the wiggliest puppy evar.
