This betentacled Ray Caesar lady is one.

Sometimes I like my dresses way more when they’re crumpled on the floor in the morning.*
*which I mean in the most non-sexual way possible, honestly. They just really look cool.

Some of her work is a little reminiscent of Loretta Lux, but overall I love what she’s doing here. I am linking to her gallery of children’s stories images, but check out the gallery of gothic works too.

This was my favorite photo that I took all weekend, although it still couldn’t capture how awesome these shadows looked on my wall. Felt like I was in that Buffy episode.

Sometimes I forget how much I love Ray Caesar, and then someone posts something of his and I am enchanted, and I realize it’s his and then I think “How did I forget how much I loved Ray Caesar?”
Anyway. This, this is lovely.
And this I love because it’s amazing and also because I’ve had a print of Fragonard’s ”The Swing” with me everywhere I’ve lived for the past ten years, so this just makes me laugh. Oh, to be the kind of person who has the money to buy the art.

More Scary Fantasy Places I Want to Visit
I really hate when people blog art and don’t link back to the artist’s actual portfolio. Unfortunately I cannot find this artist’s (Tatiana Kazakova) portfolio site, so I can only link back to the blog post where found these images.
But they’re stunning, no?
I love the scary candy circus theme, and the softness of the colors, as well as the way the curves draw your eye in. More work at the link above.

Android now has a free knock-off version of the Hipstermatic app for iPhone. It does not have as many settings, and you can’t do that shaky thing to make it change presets, but it still takes some fun pictures. Observe this mildew or mold or something growing on the plastic bin on my deck.

The Trouble with Annabelle
The Trouble with Annabelle
The problems with Annabelle’s judgment in eating
began when she was quite small
With no time for veggies her desire for offal
was awful and she ate it all
Her cravings demanded that we be quite candid
chastising her for her choices
But she would not hear us, did not seem to fear us
She seemed somewhat deaf to our voices
She cried “Don’t be hasty, this heart is quite tasty!”
And munched it with evident glee
While Reginald’s form lay all broken and torn
a sight quite disturbing to see
Annabelle’s appetites never abated
no matter what we would tell her
So we had no choice but to lock Annabelle
with her victims alone in the cellar

(Notes: This image is a mix of CGI, purloined photographs and painting in Photoshop. At some point I assume I will write a nice prose story about girls who eat hearts to accompany it. It is a companion piece to this image, which I created about a year and half ago.)
