Saturday Plans

ecolawn_two.jpgMy grass seed arrived yesterday, so today is going to be all about raking a lot and then getting it down, hoping that it has time to take before we have a hard freeze. This grass seed is supposed to need very little in the way of maintenance, and even better: none in the way of mowing! I have been wondering for years why no one has come up with a grass that doesn’t need mowing, I just supposed that the lawnmower lobby was strong enough to quash research :-p

Wildflower Farm Inc. Eco Lawn: The ultimate low maintenance Turf Grass Seed!

I have more than 11,000 words in the can for NaNoWriMo, though I did nothing at all yesterday. Actually I went to bed at 10pm last night and slept until 7:30 this morning. Tired/getting sick/depressed/stressed/SAD/allergies acting up, who knows? I needed some sleep, damnit. Dogs were not great about it, but did let me sleep at least that late. They’re way better about going to bed early than they are about getting up late.

I also ran into a huge bargain on Smith & Hawken bulbs at Target, on clearance for $3.97! These were originally $15 and I ended up buying some extras for holiday gifts, because I am cheap like that! So I have some bulbs to plant, both pink tulips and allium. Last night I fashioned my eucalyptus into wreathes and swags, will take pictures and post at some point. Also I should note that I have a vigorous dislike of the word “swag”.

Two new books for research on my novel – one came yesterday Discovering Moths and one I am continuing Mind of the Raven so wish me lots of energy, I have a million things I want and need to do, read, write and plant today.

I don’t suppose that stuff will crowd out my horrible weeds, will it?? If it will, I’m totally buying a yard full! I have been wondering the same thing every time the grass gets long.

Good job with the writing! And btw, I just read Neverwhere a couple weeks ago. And yes, I liked it. :-) It must be “Be Like Susie Week,” because my dad is getting a new Chihuahua, too. lol. He’s got his eye on this one. I told him he needed a whole pack of them, but he wasn’t having it. lol.

OMG! She’s so cute! She has got a SASSY look on her little face. Good luck to him with that!

And isn’t every week “Be Like Susie Week?” I mean, people should have SOMETHING to aspire to, non? :p

I think there would be a lot less crime in St. Louis if you let the rest of the people there know it was Be Like Susie Week. ;-)

My dad is getting really impatient waiting for the woman to call him back about Ms. Foxy. He keeps saying if she doesn’t get back to him soon, he’ll put in an application for another one. But looking at her picture she just seems like the right dog to me. I seriously think he should tough it out and wait for her. Her current owner has to get rid of her pets by the end of the month, so how long could it possibly take? She has two other Chi doggies too, but they are sick and on daily medication. I hope she finds a no-kill place for them, because I’m thinking you can’t find someone to adopt sick doggies in two weeks. :-(
