Eyeball drama
So I went to the opthamalogist today, and it turns out I have a scratch on the surface of my eyeball. Only on the white part, thankfully, not the cornea or any of the crucial seeing parts. So I got this combo steroid/antibiotic medication (props to the doc for giving me a sample and not making me go fill a prescription!) in the form of drops. I have to put one drop in my eye every 4-6 hours. And it feels like you would imagine it would feel. Like pouring alcohol on a cut, only in your eye. The only thing I have to watch for now is infection, either fungal or bacterial. Joy. Anyway, I am glad that I went to the doctor, even though I thought it would be a waste of time. Here’s Jake, looking defiant about the whole thing. He has no remorse.
I don’t know if it’s the actual eye thing or the pictures I saw when I was looking up “eye injury” last night, but I have been queasy as hell all day today. Every time I bent over I thought I was going to barf. So I didn’t get much done after work.
Heidi was asking what was new in the garden, so I took some new pictures and uploaded them to my flickr account.
Here’s my little mini-patio that I built. Ain’t it dainty and cute?
I’ve got ground cover in there that I hope will fill in all the cracks between the stones. And usually it won’t look so junky. But like I said, I was hella queasy today, so I didn’t want to clean it up.
When I look at the garden objectively I realize it still looks like hell, but I know where I am going with it, and how much work it’s been, so I am proud of it. There’s not too much in bloom at the moment, most of my things are too new. But you should check out the balloon flower for sure.

Sorry about your eyeball. :( You did say he was the devil, though.
Maybe he’s a supervillain?
