That sounds likely.

I don't have a "cache" folder in the equivalent place in Vista (C:\Users\Heidi\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\zm51bqu9.default) so it may or may not be the same if you're running Vista. There are some files in there about bookmarks and backups and stuff.

This is the kind of bullshit I spend my days trying to prevent. Doesn't always work. Most days, I want to be the one screaming "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? YOU'RE THIS STUPID, _AND_ SOMEHOW STILL SURVIVING? DARWIN WAS WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY WRONG!" Usually, it's just "ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?"

I can answer the reason for this in one simple statement:

"The world is full of fuckwits"

To elaborate, technology has now become so commonplace and easy to use that anyone can use it - so they do. Add to that the fact that the Internet has now given every fuckwit in the developed world a voice and they are determined to use it.

You see, in the real world although these people would sit next to you on a bus or train (I seem to attract them) and try to strike up a conversation with you on something boring, they would be quickly told where to go.

On the Internet though they are free to express their ill-informed and uneducated opinions on everything. Oh, and because there is no real chance of anyone popping over to punch them on the nose they are also free to act the way they've always secretly wanted to in real life: Like complete arseholes. No more having sand kicked in their face by the big kids, now they can get their own back on the world that created their own inadequacies (sp?)

I completely agree with you though. The Daz forums used to be the most laid-back place I knew. If I see an interesting post with a question then I'll take a look. If I can solve the problem, or if it's interesting to me then I'll take some time. If it seems tedious or too long to deal with then I don't bother posting. But there are an increasing number of people who feel a need to post things like "Why not use the Search function you noob?" and other helpful comments. The irony is that they could have posted a link to the right information with hardly any more effort.

By which arguement I now return to sum up all of the above:
