Naw, I didn't see anything about my birthday! But Twitter has been so fizzucked these past few weeks that I think it just deletes or hides half of everyone's tweets. I went back as far as I could (5:34 p.m. on April 1) to see if I could find your comment, but according to Twitter, you haven't posted anything between then and 23 hours ago.

And I know that's not true, because I can see my reference to your tweet that sent me to the Lisa Frank website.

In fact, for some reason I can't see your "Wednesday playlist" call for submissions today from my Twitter Home page. But I saw you make a comment referring to have posted it ... so I went to your profile, and I can see it there. But not on my Home page. WTPF?

Anyway, thanks for your belated birthday wishes! I honestly didn't think you even knew when my birthday was.

When the time comes, I will probably return the favor -- that is, miss your birthdate. Because I am horribly bad at remembering such things. Everyone in the family I grew up in has birthdays on these dates: April Fools Day, July 4, Leap Year Day, and D-Day (June 6) and so I never had to develop an ability to remember that such days were coming up -- I always got reminded by cues from the surrounding culture instead, you know what I mean?

That is, I never developed the skill for remembering randomly numbered days on the calendar that didn't have associated holidays, calendar adjustments, or specials on the History Channel to remind me.

When is your birthday again? It's in January, isn't it? No, August! Or July. Wait, maybe it was May.

Damn.

See, I have no idea -- please remind me.

@Jeni - I think there are few people who could truly keep up with the amount of inanity I spew here. When I invent real purple mace I will send you some.

@stevodarkly Thanks! I am glad you like it. Did I see via twitter that I recently missed your birthday? If so, happy belated birthday!

There needs to be a someecard that says "I'm sorry I haven't been reading your blog, but I caught up today, and I still don't have any witty or even sane responses".

I do want purple mace, though.
