And another thing
Something about winter makes me want to horde. Horde everything.
Normally I am not too much of a conspicuous consumer, I don’t want more shit piling up in my house, because I have lots of shit already. But something about this latest cold snap has activated my MUST ACQUIRE GOODS response, and I can’t stop wanting to buy things. For instance, I now think my life would be complete if I had a Wii, so I am looking for one. (Which, that’s sensible right? I am stuck in the house, I am bored, I sit like a lump on the couch, I need to interact with something.)
I also keep wanting to buy books. Dude – I HAVE ALL THE BOOKS ALREADY. I don’t need to buy books for at least a year, and that’s if I read an unread book I already own each day. Why do I want more books?
I want to buy furniture. I want to buy blankets, and lazy Susan’s for my kitchen cabinets and new rugs for the floor and new art for the walls. And this morning I decided I really couldn’t live another minute without a Raggedy Ann doll. Why? I don’t know. It’s just an instinct to pad my life with things because hard times is comin’, or it’s boredom, I guess. Must have new stimulus because old stimulus is no longer stimulating.
I really do think I am getting a Wii though.

Cheaper than the Wii even.
As far as the politics goes, I know what you mean but I’m still hopeful. The election wasn’t stolen or rigged for a change. So it’s a good start.
