OK so I found this

<blockquote>"Do I have to keep the Mobile Email application open to receive new mail?
No. Once you log into Mobile Email (by going to Menu -> My stuff - > My other stuff), your phone will alert you when new mail arrives... even if you've closed the application. You can disable this feature by going to Menu -> Mobile Email -> Options. "</blockquote>

here http://web.virginmobileusa.com/help/stuff/messaging/mobile-email

Does that help? I am not near my phone or I would check it. I am sure I turned this off via my phone and NOT via contacting Yahoo! though. What a dolt you talked to.

Yeah I did all that....... argh time to call them again I suppose (3rd time). the last chick claimed I had to go to Yahoo and tell them to make it stop. that seemed pretty hairbrained, but she was totally convinced and sounded like she's dealt with it before.

according to their online usage, this thing is even sending txts on my behalf when I turn the phone OFF as I did all last night. it's complete madness.

anyway thanks for the quick reply. bad ass!

I am not sure, it's been a while since I did it. Did you go in through "My Other Stuff" and then select mobile email? That's where I deleted my addresses, I think.

How the he!! do I turn this damn "Email requests to start Yes/No" thing off. there's no option for it, I went through all the menus 10 times. I went into Mobile Email and deleted the Yahoo email address. I also used the "Erase All My Info" option but it STILL does it.

It's driving me nuts and using up all of my messages!
I've called Virgin Mobile, even they don't know apparently. HELP and I'll Paypal you $2....
